WIU JSO at Quincy Showcase of Excellence March 13

MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University Jazz Studio Orchestra (JSO) will be featured at the 18th Annual Quincy Showcase of Excellence Show Choir and Jazz Band Competition Saturday, March 13.
The JSO, under the direction of John Cooper, director of jazz studies in the School of Music at Western, will perform music from the John Clayton library at 6:30 p.m. at Quincy Senior High School, 3322 Maine Street.
"The regional jazz festival is known for bringing the top talent in Illinois to the wonderful educational event and competition at Quincy Senior High School," Cooper said. "Our students have been working very hard for this wonderful opportunity and have been excited about performing at the Quincy Showcase of Excellence ever since the invitation came from festival organizers."
All-day admission is $10 for adults and $6 for seniors and students. Events begin at 8 a.m.
