Alcohol and Drug Use Survey to Be Administered March 22-April 12 on WIU Macomb Campus
March 11, 2010
MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University's Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Resource Center, a unit of Beu Health Center, will be administering the CORE Survey between Monday, March 22 through Monday, April 12 on WIU's Macomb campus. According to Vivian Coeur, health education specialist, the CORE Survey measures current alcohol and drug use in the college population and is administered every two years on campuses across Illinois and other states.
"No identifying information is collected, so survey respondents do not have to worry about their privacy being violated by taking part in the survey. The survey's information provides us with a snapshot of alcohol and other drug use at WIU and may be used to develop campus and community policies, as well as prevention-program initiatives, so we feel it is very important to hear from as many students as possible," Coeur said.
She added that the CORE Survey will be administered in randomly selected classrooms and other venues until the target number of completed surveys is reached on the Macomb campus.
Faculty or student organization representatives interested in taking the survey, contact Coeur at (309) 298-2457 or V-Coeur@wiu.edu.
