MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – Western Illinois University President Al Goldfarb and his wife, Elaine, have established an endowment to permanently fund the University's Civil Service Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year awards. The awards have been renamed the Al & Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month Award and the Al & Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Year Award to reflect the Goldfarb's generosity and commitment to Western.

The gift from the Goldfarbs will be used to continue a monetary stipend for the recipient of the Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) Employee of the Month. The Goldfarb's endowment will award the employee of the month with $100 cash, as well as a plaque and $500 in Macomb Chamber of Commerce gift certificates for the CSEC Employee of the Year.

"Through Al and Elaine's generosity we will be able to continue to recognize Western Illinois University's outstanding civil service employees," said Brad Bainter, vice president for advancement and public services at WIU. "The Goldfarbs' gift will be long appreciated by WIU."
