'Selling College vs. Pro Sports' Talk by Alum, Bushnell Native Rob Louthain April 10

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University alumnus and Bushnell native Rob Louthain will be on the WIU-Macomb campus next week to present, "Selling College Sports vs. Professional Sports."

Louthain earned his master's degree in sport management from Western in 2001, and during his presentation, which is slated from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, in Brophy Hall, rooms 224-226, he will share his experiences from his work in both college and professional sports. His presentation is open free to the public.

Currently, Louthain serves as the general manager for Indiana University Sports Properties (IUSP) – Learfield Sports, where he is responsible for the planning, implementation and administration relationship between Indiana University and IUSP. His duties include overseeing all recruitment, selection, training, development, supervision and evaluation of sales and support staff. He also develops the annual fiscal budget; supervises all related operations; supervises broadcast talent; and works with Learfield operations and production staff to ensure high-quality programming, production, syndication, coverage and presentation of events.

Prior to his position with IUSP – Learfield Sports, Louthain served as the manager of ticket sales, service and premium seating for the Chicago White Sox (2004-09); as the director of sales and marketing for the PGA Tour—Advil/Cialis Western Open (2000-04); and as a corporate partnership account executive for the Chicago White Sox (1999-2000).

He is a member of the National Sports Marketing Network and Sports Circle Indy. Louthain earned his bachelor's degree in economics from Knox College in 1993.
