Advice for Freshmen: Discover as many student organizations as possible, whether it be Greek life, student government, student organizations or intramurals. Get involved in something that interests you and see where it takes you! Build those friendships and connections early on, they will strengthen your engagement to the university and community.
Favorite WIU Memory: Joining Sigma Tau Gamma the spring of my freshmen year, it was a great way to get involved in campus life and participate in events like Homecoming and various philanthropies. I'm still close with many of them to this day and its fun to see how our families have grown through the years. I also really enjoyed attending Leatherneck sporting events, especially Leatherneck football tailgating on Saturday afternoons.
Favorite WIU Memory: Four years full of favorite memories and countless stories – which have continued for 45+ years now since graduating from WIU still traveling and getting together with over two dozen fellow-Leathernecks that we meet up with regularly even though we are spread across the country.
Family Information/Special Interests and Hobbies: My wife Nikki (a WIU '04 alum) and our three kids live in Geneva, IL. All of the kids are actively involved in youth sports, choir and volunteering. Those activities typically take a great deal of our time throughout the year, but we also enjoy vacationing in Wisconsin, Arizona and Michigan to fish, hike and slow things down.
