Four Men for Men's Health Discussion Set for Feb. 25

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Employee Wellness committee will present the fifth annual, "Four Men for Men's Health," at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, in the University Union Sandburg Theatre. An hour-long event dedicated to addressing men's health issues, the panel discussion will feature four speakers, including Eric Gurzell, assistant professor, dietetics, fashion merchandising and hospitality; Mike Fansler, professor, music; Dan Yoder, chair, recreation, park and tourism administration; and Dustin Van Sloten, assistant director, Campus Recreation. Dale Adkins, associate dean, College of Education and Human Services, will moderate the panel.

Each speaker will address a different topic related to men's health:

  • Gurzell — "MegaMan—Any Truth Behind Dietary Supplements for Men?"
  • Fansler — "Go Ahead and Snooze! Health Benefits of Proper Sleep"
  • Yoder — "Fitness, Surgery and New Body Parts"
  • Van Sloten — "Get Fit… Spiritually Fit"

The presenters will answer audience questions, as well. Co-sponsored by Western's Center for the Study of Masculinities and Men's Development (CSMMD), the Feb. 25 panel discussion is open free to the public.
