MACOMB, IL - - A team of Western Illinois University Athletic Training (AT) students recently took home first place at the Illinois Athletic Trainers Association College Jeopardy Quiz Bowl.

For the third time in program history, a team of WIU AT students beat out nine schools to win the competition, which was hosted at the annual state meeting.

WIU's team included seniors Kelly Crowley, from Naperville, IL; Charysse Berkowski, from Schaumburg, IL; and Lindsey Schafer, from Mendon, IL. The three students will head to the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers Association District meeting in March to represent Illinois against teams from Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

"We are all very proud of these students, as well as the great showing of WIU AT students in attendance at the state conference," said Renee Polubinsky, kinesiology chair and former AT program director.

Western's Athletic Training program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). For more information on WIU's AT program, visit wiu.edu/coehs/kinesiology/at.
