WIU to Offer New Human Resource Management Concentration in MBA Degree

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – Western Illinois University will now offer a Human Resource Management (HRM) concentration in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. With the fast-paced global economy, HRM is needed more now than ever.

Students in the MBA program who concentrate on Human Resource Management will gain knowledge and skills to help them effectively manage human capital within organizations. Students will have the opportunity to choose courses in several different areas, including staffing, legal compliance, and international HRM, as well as courses in organizational development and organizational behavior/leadership. Students will also have the chance to complete an HRM internship or independent study project.

The curriculum in WIU's HRM program has been recognized by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) for being in line with best-practice guidelines.

SHRM is the world's largest association dedicated to human resource management, representing more than 300,000 members. WIU offers an award-winning student chapter of SHRM which regularly invites HR professionals to give presentations, participates in HR case competitions and more. In addition, SHRM offers professional certifications in HR and the HRM concentration prepares working professionals toward certifications.
