WIU'S Donna Wiencek Named American Marketing Association's Chicago Board Director

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University Assistant Professor of Marketing Donna Wiencek has been named as the American Marketing Association's (AMA) Chicago Board Director, Marketing Insights.

Wiencek was elected to the position by the members and appointed by the Board president and vice president for a two-year term. In her position, she will lead the Marketing Insights Committee for AMA Chicago, which is responsible for all chapter analytics, research projects, event evaluations, surveys and member interviews, the chapter ticketing platform partner, and data management in Salesforce.

"I joined AMA Chicago to engage and work with marketing professionals to discuss initiatives, trends and best practice approaches within the industry in an effort to enhance my leadership, knowledge and skills. It has been a pleasure working with the committee and board members, managing the surveys for AMA Chicago and attending various webinars," said Wiencek. "The insights gained from the meetings and webinars have been beneficial to my course instruction and preparing my students to be successful in their professional careers."

Wiencek is also the director of WIU's Atlantis program, a trans-atlantic degree program that offers students an opportunity to study and live in France, Sweden and the U.S. and earn a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from INSEEC in Lyon, Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Business Administration from Linköping University, and a second bachelor's degree or a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in four years.

Within the School of Management and Marketing, Wiencek serves on the Marketing Curriculum Subcommittee and Scholarship Committee, and she served as the faculty advisor to the Marketing Club from 2012-19. Based on her commitment and accomplishments in teaching and scholarly activities, she was elected a Faculty Initiate of Delta Sigma Pi Lambda Omicron Chapter in April 2014. During the 2015-16 academic year, she received a staff appreciation nomination as Outstanding Professor from the Sigma Sigma Sigma Chapter at Western Illinois University. In May 2018, she received the College of Business and Technology Faculty Award of Excellence in University/Community Service. Wiencek is recognized for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Consumer Behavior, International Business, Internet Marketing, Marketing Management, Marketing Principles, Marketing Research, Marketing Technologies, Mobile Marketing, Professional Selling, Promotional Concepts and a Thesis Seminar. As chair of the College of Business and Technology Strategic Planning Committee, she developed process, procedures for project-based work and a new vision and mission for the college based on research findings, which led to two AACSB accreditations.
