Updates on unexpected interruptions or outages will be posted below. Note that STARS and WIUP are offline for maintenance every night from midnight to 3:00 a.m, and some Sundays between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Other systems may be offline between 9:00 p.m. Friday and 6:00 a.m. Saturday for scheduled server maintenance. Routine maintenance outside of these windows are posted to our Facebook and Twitter feeds.

Disruption Resolution - Network interruption cause found, solution implemented (2:40pm)

With the vendor's assistance, we have identified and applied a fix for the underlying issue that was causing the recent network interruptions. We will continue to monitor the situation in case this does not completely resolve the issue, but at this point in time network connectivity is restored to normal. We thank you for your patience today.

Disruption Update - Network interruption update (12:37pm)

We have been actively engaged with the vendor of the affected network device since ~11:30am in an effort to resolve the ongoing network issues affecting both the Macomb and QC campuses. Work continues.

Users will continue to notice intermittent outages impacting their ability to reach both internet and on-campus resources. Thank you for your continued patience, we will provide more information as it becomes available.

Disruption Notice - Disruption from off campus (9:03am)

While performing some maintenance on the network this morning, some unexpected outages have occurred. Currently users off campus are having trouble connecting to the VPN and other services and well as some on campus users are having trouble connecting to WesternOnline. University Technology is aware of the issues and is working to resolve them as quickly as possible.

Disruption Update - Financial system WIUP applications available (6:47am)

The financial system WIUP applications (FRBR, FXSR, REGS and related screens) are now available. Final repairs to underlying hardware are still pending completion, but all WIUP applications are functioning as expected. Please contact support@wiu.edu if you experience any issues today that maybe related to the incident so that we can investigate. Thank you for your patience.
